Samuel "Sam" Melvin Aucoin

With heavy hearts, the family of Samuel Melvin Aucoin announces his unexpected passing at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Monday February 23, 2026. Born in Stephenville NFLD, on Jan 8, 1961, he was the son of the late Melvin and Maureen (Gaudet) Aucoin.

Sam will be lovingly remembered by the love of his life Pam Cook; his stepdaughters Beth Tracy (Rob Thomas), Sharon Cook (Edward Goldsworthy), Sherrie Bridges and Marjorie Perry, he will also be missed by his grand children Haven, Nevah, Owen and chosen grand daughter Olivia. Sam also leaves behind his sisters Esther Rouzes (Tommy St. Pierre) Phyllis Miller and Elaine Aucoin.

Sam really enjoyed music, from playing it to, recording it, to teaching it and even making his own guitars, anything about music Sam enjoyed. He played for many bands, some of which included The Southern Comfort Band, and Sidekick. In 2018 he was inducted into the NB Music Hall of Fame. Sam also had a creative side where he would make painting’s and build model cars but above all Sam’s heart belonged to his grandkids.

Aside from his parents Sam was predeceased by his brother Raymond Aucoin and sister Sheila Marie Aucoin.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (506-646-2424). Visitation will be held on Friday February 27, 2026, from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm, Funeral service will be held on Saturday February 28, 2026, at 2pm in the Fundy Funeral Home Chapel. Immediately following the service, family and friends are invited to gather in the reception hall for a time of fellowship and refreshments.
