With heavy hearts, the family of Gary Edward Fash announces his passing on February 21, 2026, at St. Joseph’s Hospital.
Born in Digby, NS, on June 21, 1952, Gary was the beloved son of the late Melbourne and Marion (Melanson) Fash
Gary will be lovingly remembered by his children Angela Fash (Pete Ward), Son Derek Fash (Tanya Ring); sisters Diane Vanhattem, Linda Fash; grandchildren Grayden and Bryson and their Mother Holly Robitaille, and grandson Landen; special niece Shannon Savoy, and nephews Mark Smith (Florence), Scott Smith (Christina), and Corey Savoy (Karen); and his special friend Bev.
He was predeceased by his parents and his stepmother Daphne.
Gary was a cook by trade and dedicated many years to working for Woolworth’s, Friendly’s and A & W. He was an avid hockey player and loved the Boston Bruins. He enjoyed bowling and never turned down an excellent game of chess. In Gary’s earlier years he enjoyed hunting and fishing and time spent at Whiterock.
The family would like to say a special thank you to the Doctor’s and nurses of both 4BS at the Saint John Regional Hospital and the Cam Unit at St. Joe’s, also special thank you to Dr. Le for all his care shown to the family.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (506-646-2424). Visitation will be held on Tuesday February 24, 2026, from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm, Funeral service will be held on Wednesday February 25, 2026, at 10 am in the Fundy Funeral Home Chapel. A private graveside interment will take place at a later date. Immediately following the service, family and friends are invited to gather in the reception hall for a time of fellowship and refreshments.
